  This boat is currently fitted out as a restaurant, it was built with the intention to operate in Cairo as the only sailing restaurant which aimed to offer upscale Modern European dining to the ex-patriot community. The owners have now decided to sell as they are focusing on a different business project. The boat is offered at its construction price of 2.3 million Egyptian pounds. Costing are available for the conversion of this boat to accommodate cabins. There is a certain amount of finishing work to complete but we feel that the asking price reflects this. As a new Dahabiya licence the first 5 years allows only for "sail propulsion", usually a tugboat is used for manoeuverability and low wind conditions, during this period. After the five year period expires, in this case february 2011 ,engine propulsion is allowed. The boat was designed with this in mind. There is a vertical shaft running right through the rear of the boat which currently houses the rudder shaft. From 2011 year this shaft could well house the vertical drive shaft for an outboard motor. Steering is provided through the swivelling drive shaft so no need for a separate rudder. A tugboat is also available. This is a 16 metre 360 hp brand new, beautifully built boat. The tugboat is available at an extra cost of 220,000 Egyptian pounds. |
